Mutoh announces bulk inks and bulk ink system for Blizzard series printers  

Ostende, Belgien den 15.07.2008 | Wide-format piezo inkjet printer manufacturer Mutoh Europe announces immediate availability of a bulk ink system and a new set of CMYK mild solvent inks - called Mild Solvent Plus - for its Blizzard series printers. 
 

Mild Solvent Plus (MS Plus) indicates a second generation of Mutoh mild solvent inks. The new inks will drastically improve both performance and cost for print figures on Mutoh’s award-winning Blizzard series printers.
 
The new Mild Solvent Plus inks are available in 1 liter bottles for use in combination with Mutoh’s continuous ink supply system called BIS. The inks are also offered in 440 ml ink cassettes. Mutoh’s new MS Plus inks are an addition to the existing Blizzard ink configuration possibilities, i.e. CMYK Eco-Solvent Ultra inks or Mild Solvent inks in 220 and 440 ml cassettes. 
 
Key features of Mutoh’s new MS Plus inks:
   
• Cyclohexanone and NMP free ink formulation.    
• Attractively priced at 115 € / liter. 
• At an average ink consumption of 8 ml/², ink cost on a
   Blizzard with MS Plus is 0.92 €/m².   

Same colour gamut and UV resistance (up to 3 years without lamination) as Mutoh’s existing mild solvent inks. For heavy-duty applications where mechanical stress is involved (floor & vehicle graphics) lamination is required. Vastly increased media compatibility with low-cost self-adhesive media. Speed performance boost on previously compatible media (up to three times faster).

This is made possible thanks to optimized drying characteristics and dot gain control in combination with Mutoh’s new HD 360 Intelligent Interweaving print modes. These new HD (high density) 360 dpi print modes offer a colour gamut which can easily compete with 540 x 720 dpi output. Profiles made for Mutoh’s existing mild solvent inks remain usable.   New profiling is only required for new print modes and for newly compatible media. 
 
Bulk Ink System for Blizzard series printers
 
Mutoh’s Bulk Ink System (BIS) has been developed specifically for speed-intensive volume-oriented users requiring a high-end, high-volume ink delivery and refill system offering long unattended printing capabilities along with minimum user intervention.

BIS for Blizzard has 4 ink bottles. Each bottle has a total capacity of 4.3 liter. The bulk ink system comes with 8 permanent ink supply cartridges. Each cartridge offers electronic and mechanical overflow protection. Each ink supply tube has its own filter pump which will prevent dust particles from reaching the print head, avoiding head obstruction.  A constant ink level is maintained inside each cartridge. This will guarantee a steady pressure inside of the print head, a continuous uniform drop mass and as such a constant print quality.
